Curriculum
In keeping with the purpose of St. Paul Lutheran School, our curriculum is based on the Word of
God. Religion is not merely a separate subject in the day's work; its influence permeates and gives
substance to all other subject areas taught.
Language Arts: English, spelling, literature, reading, phonics, handwriting,
dictionary skills, research and study skills, writing composition, and oral
communication.
Religion: Daily devotions and prayer, weekly chapel service, Bible
study, memory work, and church history. All students are required to take
religion instruction.
Social Studies: Geography, history, citizenship, current events, map
skills, eastern and western hemisphere, U.S. and Michigan history.
In keeping with a Christian philosophy of education, guidelines for Lutheran schools, and the
requirements of the State of Michigan, students receive a thorough education in the following areas:
Academics
Science: Life, Physical, and Earth sciences, human body, health and
nutrition, and hands-on experiences.

What our parents say:
"My daughter is a freshman this year in
high school...During conferences, several
teachers made a point of telling me they
could tell my daughter came from St. Paul
because the students from St. Paul are
different from the others. They told me
that St. Paul students are more
respectful, attentive, smart, participate in
class better and are well balanced...From
an academic perspective, we've seen
what an excellent job St. Paul did in
preparing our daughter for high school..."
